New Image Gallery

Posted by Sean Thu, 12 Jan 2006 05:33:00 GMT

I’ve added a new image gallery (links in the right sidebar). You can even have pictures printed by ShutterFly (little printer link at bottom right when viewing image) if you so desire.

I’ve also updated all the embedded photo links inside the individual blog entries to link to the photo in the gallery instead of that anoying popup window I had. Those of you that are on the RSS feed, sorry if this caused a bunch of refreshed links.

New Site

Posted by Sean Tue, 10 Jan 2006 04:26:00 GMT

New site layout. Moved to my new host plus switched to new blog software.

Because of the software switch, those of you that are reading the RSS feed might want to switch to the new feed url which you can find in the Syndicate section at the bottom of the sidebar. I’ve mapped the old feed url to the new one for the time being, but can’t guarantee that it will be around forever. Just switch to the new one and be safe.

I still have some cleanup left to do after the import from the old software, but things should be pretty close to normal.

More Tools

Posted by Sean Tue, 14 Jun 2005 22:28:00 GMT

Wing The time was getting closer where I’d need to fab the tank vent lines and in the future the brake and fuel lines, so I ordered up a tube bender and an end flare tool. The tube bender is for… well… bending tube. The end flare tool flares the end of the tube for fittings. This does the same job as the automotive and home flare tools do, but aviation flares and fittings are 37 degrees which is different.

Take a look HERE on Tim’s site for an example of the bends required and the fittings on the end of the flare.

RV-4 Experience

Posted by Sean Sat, 26 Feb 2005 17:00:00 GMT

Extras A great big thank you goes out to Tom and Katie for letting me stop by their DVT hanger and say hello. It gave me a chance to see what I’m really on the waiting list for (the hanger) and also just to chat a while about plane “stuff”.

Extras Best of all, was the ride I was able to take in Katie’s RV-4. This was the first time I’ve been up in an RV. Although the back of an RV-4 is a little tight for us long-legged fellows, it was none the less a great ride.

Thanks to both of you. And you’re on top of my “free-rides for life” list when the -10 is done.
